Chhattisgarh has several industrial parks / growth centres, which act as hubs of industrial development in the state. These include industrial parks in Light Industrial Area in Bhilai, Borai in Durg, Urla in Raipur city, Siltara, Borjhara, Industrial Areas in Dhamtari and Mahasamund, Gidam Road, Kurandi, Pandripani industrial areas in Jagdalpur, among others. These industrial estates are close to major cities and provide basic physical and social infrastructure facilities to industrial units.

Entities having fund based credit requirements of 5.00 Crores and above or existing projected turnover of over Rs. 50.00 Crore in six districts of Chhattisgarh. Specific objectives addressing the organization’s unique issues, the study unleash the following:

• Existing Financial status‐ Pricing (Rate of interest) enjoyed by the company.

Keeping the objectives in mind primary and secondary data was chosen for the study. The study was conducted using survey technique. A purposive sample of SME respondents was selected from different businesses and professions. Simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample. The samples were specifically manufacturers, industry people, agents, brokers, associations, and financial institutes.

With growing economy and high GSDP of Chhattisgarh, along with supportive Government policies (Emphasis on Non‐Core Sector in recent Global Investors Meet during Rajyotsava 2012), industrial climate is positive with favorable inputs. The state is ready to step into future with “Sunrise Industries” opening new sectors like IT, Electronics, Apparel, Gems & Jwellery, Agri & Food Processing, Infrastructure, etc. Also, the current industrial scenario is on rise with ample power supply for industrial setups and economy back on track with sign of growth and market on high for Industrial sector along with infrastructure and services.

In view of above facts of new investment opportunities along with present industrial setups, Banks have lot of opportunities to improve customer base with SME Sector in state of Chhattisgarh.
